LIBERATION PURPOSE OF GROWING LONG HAIR
This is a note to clarify why long hair for males and females is a key step toward liberation. This is more important for males, since most females already have long hair.
First off, yes, there were different traditions of how hair was grown; from Mohawk short to Cheyenne long. Even with the Mexica there were different lengths of hair that were required for the different warrior societies.
BUT TODAY, the key reason why we cut our hair is to maintain our enslavement to white culture. It is a way of conforming the body and mind to European standards, a way of assimilating, a way of denying to ourselves the heart of who we are: Nican Tlaca, Indigenous people.
Cutting our hair, for the male, was part of the cultural castration that Europeans did to us beginning in the 16th century. It was a form of castration. Today we do this willingly, out of "tradition, culture..."
Europeans first they did this “hair cutting” in the Spanish schools (first "Indian" schools), "colegios", (illustration above by Nelyollotl Toltecatl) all the way through to the 19th century "Indian" schools.
The first thing they did to males, as part of culturally castrating us, was to CUT THE HAIR. It was a visual reminder of defeat, of cultural castration, of submission to European culture, of our slavery.
The second thing they did to us was to force us to stop the use of our languages and to force upon us the Spanish or English languages.
The third thing was to change our names from our own Nican Tlaca names to false Christian and European names. It was their way of declaring ownership over us. It was a form of branding us, as they did with the cows and horses they owned. In the Spanish and English European areas, usually we were given a saint’s name for a first name. We were given the Spanish or English surname of the Spaniard who owned us or the English name of the government officials who forced on us a surname. In other instances we were given the surname of the English or Spanish person whose ranch or mines we were working on as slaves.
The fourth thing was to impose Christianity. We were forced to go to church and to learn their religion. We never saw much Christian behavior from any of the Europeans. Christianity was more like the clothing they wore, just something that was part of their culture, it had nothing to do with their morality or ethics: it was just something they did rituals and ceremonies about, but it was not about how they lived their lives.
Finally they made sure that we cut all connections to Warrior Societies which might maintain any form of resistance to the genocide that was going on against our people. Make special notice on this: who are our warriors, our soldiers today? It is not the soldiers of the colonial nations of "Latin America" or of the English speaking colonial settler nations. We have no warriors to protect us, to guide us, to discipline us, to maintain honor.
The short hair in the males remains as a symbol of our cultural castration, it is the severing of our connection to warrior societies and to our civilizations and cultures.
The shaved heads are part of prison and gang culture. The shaved head represents crime and terrorism of our people by our own people. Our sons, brothers, neighbors, are the ones doing the killings, the robberies, the car thefts, the drug dealing, the terrorism, the rapes, the crimes that bring horrors into our homes and neighborhoods. That's what the gangster shaved head represents.
Women suffered in many ways too. But they suffered the worst in that they suffered the racist rapes that scarred our people with European blood.
Today we cut our own hair. We maintain "our" family names (slave names), and continue with Christian first names. We continue with European religion, and the slavery that keeps us impoverished (by not claiming our Nican Tlaca culture, our lands, our history, or our heritage).
We speak their English and Spanish languages and maintain and protect their interests. We are now a culture of ignorance, fear, cowardice, treason, dishonor, self-hate, self-terrorizing, and genocide.
Most of our people are not even conscious of what they do by going to church, getting a haircut, speaking European languages: it keeps them from ever thinking about being free from Europeans. We are a people living in genocide. We are a culture of dishonor.
TODAY, the easiest way of resisting genocide, the destruction of our people, is to let your hair grow long. The easiest way to rebel, to resist, to confront colonialism (for the male) is to let your hair grow as long as possible. It is easier than reading a book. It is easier than saying, "I am Nican Tlaca, Indigenous to this land. This is my land, my continent, and the European squatters on my people's continent are illegal squatters, thieves, and genocidal savages who have invaded our continent!" It is so easy, but.... the mental blocks that keep our people with shaved heads is something to think about: what are you being loyal to with your shaved head?
The next step is to learn our collective Nican Tlaca history, our accomplishments, and to learn what it is to be a warrior for our people.
The next step is to participate in the Liberation through Nican Tlaca Education of the Mexica Movement.
The step after that is the name change. You can just declare your complete Nican Tlaca name (no Christian first or European last name), after a well researched look for a name. Then you can legally change it, as a public declaration of freedom from a European branding on your identity. This is known as an "ethnic correction." This also solves answering why you are not Hispanic or Latino. You have no Spanish name.
Next is the abandonment of Christianity. Remember that you are not abandoning morality. Morality has no religion, it is purely logical, and part of our heritage without Christianity or any foreign religion.
In this process of acts of liberation you must change your slave mentality: your must abandon gangs, sports fanaticism, music obsessions, drugs, obsessions with exaggerated pursuits of sex, and all of the other things that keep you from being a thinker, that keep you from being a warrior for your people.
Begin by learning the truth of our heritage. Do this with a Nican Tlaca point of view that is all about Nican Tlaca education for Cemanahuac Liberation.
Be strong, courageous, in knowledge, as a Nican Tlaca: let your hair grow! It will let your knowledge grow. It will let your THINKER mind grow. It will let the warrior in you grow. It will liberate you body and mind.
