GHOSTS ARE NOT REAL: DAYS OF THE DEAD ARE REAL
WE ARE NOT DEAD OR GHOSTS OR A LESSER PEOPLE: It just seems that way

We behave as if we are already dead, as if we are a dead people.
We need to start acting and living as if we are a living Nican Tlaca people.
We need to snap out of European lies and our own cowardice.

"White" people talk of ghosts who wander the earth in search of justice,
who haunt houses, cemeteries, old roads, and the minds of the insane.

In truth there are no ghosts or spirits or afterlife or reincarnations
or any of the foolishness that we have been taught,
there is only the guilt of THINGS LEFT UNDONE.

There are too many truths and demands for justice
and tellings of stories of our people
that need to be told, that are dying to be told,
that we are not told, that must be told.

Every year these stories are on the land,
on our tongues, on our minds,
but we have not been taught to properly speak these untold stories.

We need to make an effort
to know all of the truth, to let it be part of who we are,
of how our ancestors were enslaved,
then raped, then mutilated.

There are the testimonies of the Europeans themselves
who wrote of massacres, the use of smallpox,
and the executions of our people.

They told of how they mutilated and killed us
for their perverted pleasures,
much like the Nazis did
in the concentration camps with Jews and Gypsies.

There are the history books of today that safely hide the full truth
of the destruction of our civilizations,
the burning of our libraries, the killings of our people.

The more decent white people speak
of this subject in hushed voices, whispers,
and the knowing looks of shames and guilts
that are not there amongst their brothers and sisters,
just the pale shadows of unspoken shame and guilt,
wanting-needing to forget, to not know,
to make sure no one ever knows.

And of course the full white supremacists celebrate our holocaust
and the holocaust of Gypsies and Jews,
with a heil to hitler, to columbus, to custer,
to all the monsters of the white race.

There is left to tell many more of their crimes,
these monstrosities that Europeans committed against us,
but we have to do our more research ourselves
to tell more truth, to make truth liberating,

liberating beyond what the good white people have already done
since the days of De Las Casas
and men like John Brown, who paved the way for us.

We have to get serious
about our lives as human beings, as Nican Tlaca,
and get to be the lost tears and screams of our ancestors,
unexpressed for centuries.

This should be a time to cry for our ancestors,
the children, the women raped,
the men butchered, our cities burned and destroyed, our civilizations lost.

But we all seem to have more important “dates” and “parties” and "games"
or "music" to attend to,
or sits on the couch, or for TV or the Internet,
to do for the rest of our lives as slaves of the white race
---all of that is so much more important to us in our
colonized minds.

We have no leaders, no warriors, no honor, no nothing
to show that we are full human beings.
All we have are the shadows of things we did not do,
things we should have done and didn’t do.

Save this little bit of constructed words
for the next time you grow some courage,
or when you find your full humanity,
or save it for when you are dying
and see that you did nothing with your life,

that you lived your life ignoring the cries for justice
of our ancestors, ignoring them,
and their pleadings, where they beg of us
that we live our lives as honorable men and women,
that we do something of significance with our lives
that helps to educate and liberate our people.

This is my chant for my people
to wake from this nightmare that we are in.
Let us at least wake once a year,
once a year is not too much to ask,
as white people celebrate Columbus day
until the Days of the Dead.
Turn these days to awake yourself,
to become undead,
to not be a ghost of who you are,
to do something meaningful
that educates and liberates our people.

Let us at least on these days
declare that this is our land, that we are the 5% survivors
of the largest holocaust in the history of the human race,
of an ongoing genocide.

Educate people that 95% of us were killed,
70 to 100 million of our people throughout Cemanahuac killed with smallpox.
Cemanahuac: what is called the Western Hemisphere, our continent,
what in damnation is called, “The Americas”, here where we were killed.

We are the survivors surviving as slaves,
in ignorance, in dishonor, in cowardice,
in fear and inaction, as incomplete human beings,
as ghosts of the people we should be.

Let us not continue to live as shadows or ghosts
or lesser human beings.
Let us live our lives as Nican Tlaca,
knowledgeable courageous people, once again.

This is not too much to ask of ourselves,
not too much to ask of any human being.
