FOOLS AND SLAVES
There was long ago this land of a people
who had been made slaves of an invading people,
who had been made slaves and fools
on their own lands.
In this land of slaves and fools
the people were blind about certain things,
but otherwise they could see quite well.
They pretended not to be able to see these certain things.
They mostly pretended that they could not see
the fools they had become, the slaves they were
to the pale race that had enslaved them.
They were slaves of the pale race
but they had made their own laws for themselves.
They had a law against speaking bad against slavery and foolishness.
They had a law against owning mirrors; mirrors were a light to truth, they showed dishonor.
They had a law against breaking chains; the mental chains of their slavery.
They had a law against speaking the truth of how useless and empty their lives were.
They had a law against ever speaking as warriors; they knew that slaves needed no warriors.
They had made these laws as a fixed part of their new culture:
the culture of slaves and fools.
But the truth was whispered anyway, in the cover of night.
Not that it made much difference since the slave people were all cowards
and they would not ever turn words into actions.
The more intelligent of the slaves understood the truth.
The truth was found in the records of their masters.
The truth was looked upon as “an evil” that must be hidden.
The basic truth was their true history before the invasion.
The deeper truth was their true history of crimes against them after the invasion.
The biggest truth of all was that their lands, their whole continent had been stolen from them
by waves of a foreign evil people who had no morals, no decency.
Their people had been annihilated by a cowardly virus weapon of the pale invaders
that was meant to kill them all, but some few did survive somehow.
The people who survived were made slaves.
They were the remnant of their people
who had somehow survived a holocaust.
These remnants of these people had been made slaves of these foreign evil people.
These evil people took pride in killing the owners of the lands.
These evil people saw no evil in enslaving and killing, raping or stealing,
or in destroying dozens of civilizations.
These evil people grew fat and wealthy from all of what they stole,
from all of the evil that they did, from the profits of their crimes.
After centuries of slavery, slavery was looked on as something "normal" by slaves and masters.
The slave people were looked on as a lesser human people by their masters.
The slave people were looked on as a lesser human people by the slaves themselves.
These slave people were descended from a people of great accomplishments.
They had built great civilizations, built cities and cultures of genius.
The ruins of their genius were scattered on their continent.
But the people were divided by the borders of their many foreign pale masters.
They had no wise or courageous leaders to lead them out of slavery, or into rebellion.
The pale masters came from a savage pale people far across the sea.
These people had originated no civilization, no agriculture, nothing worthy of note
since what they did have of civilization were stolen ideas from other civilizations.
But they falsely claimed originating civilization, agriculture, the wheel, everything
that was important, brilliant, or that was a great contribution to the world.
They had become a people who had a false resume, a false sense of superiority.
As thieves and killers, with smallpox as a weapons,
they had become wealthy and powerful.
But they claimed it was their genius, hard work, and their manifest destiny
that made them wealthy and powerful, not the crimes of centuries or the genocide
that they had inflicted on all the non-pale races they encountered.
They lied about their savage origins, the origins of their immoral hypocritical religion,
and of how they came to own the lands of the people that they now enslaved.
They were a ruthless people with no guilt or shame in the evils that they did.
Their stolen wealthy made them the terror of the world.
And the world did fear them for the deceit, their lies, and their genocidal ways.
Meanwhile the people who had been made slaves and fools
by the invading savages from the pale lands,
they lived their impoverished lives as best they could for hundreds of years.
They were self-blinded from seeing all of this truth.
The self-blinding came from a tradition
of being slaves, of coming from a new culture of cowardice.
They had been slaves for hundreds of years now
and they had been disconnected from their full humanity.
They could no longer really see truth or honor
even when it was right in front of their face.
They could not see that they were in disgrace.
They could not see that they needed to confront and destroy their slavery.
They refused to see that they needed to undo themselves of their masters.
Not one in the millions of slave fools in the land
could stand up and say, “We have been made fools!
We have been made slaves and fools, dishonored!
We need to rebel. We need to be liberated from our false masters!”
No. There was not one who would say such truth.
Though there were many who knew the truth,
not one could be found who had courage enough to say the truth
of what they saw all around them:
the pale foreign settlers on their lands were thieves, killers, racists;
the pale squatters on their lands kept them poor to make themselves rich;
the false masters of their people on their lands needed them as slaves and fools forever;
the evil criminal settlers on their lands had gorged themselves on the wealth of their people;
and they needed to confront and expel them from all their lands, from their continent.
This was never done. It did not ever happen.
What little of the rumors of truth that their children ever knew
made their children filled with fear, made them less than human.
This fear ruled their hearts, their lives, and took them to their graves.
So this went on for thousands of years until the fools, the slaves,
could no longer reproduce themselves because of shame, from finally learning
the whole truth, from having shame in not having the courage
to end their slavery to the evil people who had taken their lands,
who had taken their freedom, who had taken their humanity.
The fools and slaves became extinct eventually
and now there only exists the legends
of a foolish slave people who once
lived only to serve their pale masters.
Nothing is known of their great civilizations,
nothing of their genius, or of their ownership of the land.
We Nican Tlaca are the fools and the slaves.
We are destined for extinction as a people
if we do not find the courage and discipline
to end our foolishness, our ignorance,
to end our slavery to white supremacy and colonialism.
