OUR ANCESTORS
Our ancestors were first seen by the Europeans and were described as a people of beauty.
Today we see ourselves inferior to Europeans in every way, because we do not look like them.
Our ancestors first saw Europeans and described them as smelly dog-faced people.
Today we do everything we can to look like Europeans, to be like Europeans.
Our ancestors conceived of great civilizations and cities, a great heritage for us.
Today we can’t even conceive of the fact that we are slaves of the white race.
Our ancestors made beautiful murals, art, sculpture, poetry, songs, things of beauty.
Today we tag the walls of our neighborhoods with the ugliness of graffiti, ugly music.
Our ancestors were people of books intellectuals, lofty thinkers, venerables.
Today we are a people not known for intellect, or books, or being thinkers of any sort.
Our ancestors were a people of honor, dignity, discipline, and of great reputation.
Today we are a people of cowards, gangsters, clowns, fools, sellouts, and dishonor.
Our ancestors engineered, built, and were architects of great beautiful buildings.
Today we are just the labor of the lowest rank, with little hopes for achievement.
Our ancestors were astronomers, doctors, writers, and people of high caliber.
Today we are not known for any thing that really matters in life, only whites matter.
Our ancestors collectively owned this rich and majestic continent, and we still do.
Today, we refuse to acknowledge our ownership of our land, our history, or our identity.
Our ancestors would be shocked to see the condition to which we have fallen.
Today with the Mexica Movement we are working to wake and to raise our people.
Our ancestors provide for us the role models of accomplishments and honor.
Today we will use all of that to motivate our people to educate themselves for liberation.
Our ancestors will be proud of us one day when we are at last free from our slavery.
Today we are barely beginning to wake our people, to inspire them to learn.
Our ancestors would be the free Cemanahuac nation, without the European invasions.
Today we will be working to undo 1492 and to catch up for what we lost in 500 years.
Our ancestors should be the light for all of us, to show us that we are a great people.
Today we need to embrace that knowledge, that pride, and to share it with the world.
Our ancestors will one day smile in pride of all of us when we are free from Europeans.
Today we do more than just talk of this, we participate in the work of Mexica Movement.
This work of education for liberation
we do for our descendants,
the ones who will be free,
and to regain the honor of our ancestors.
